Since the beginning of the new century, China's canned production and exports have seen a rapid growth trend. At present, China canned exports to Japan, the United States, Europe and other more than 150 countries and regions.

 

 

 

According to the 2007 Annual Meeting of the China Canning Industry Association held in Beijing on the 21st, China produced 4.07 million tons of canned goods in 2006, with a output value of 35.5 billion yuan, exported 2.28 million tons and an export value of 2.34 billion US dollars. Both the output and the export volume have more than doubled since 2000. Since this year, China's canned food production and export have maintained a momentum of growth, becoming the largest export of food products.

 

 

 

Liang Zhongkang, chairman of the China Canning Industry Association, said that China's canning industry was founded in the early 1950s and was once one of the early, well-founded and fast-growing industries in China's food industry. Over the past decades, China's canning industry has continuously adapted to the international market for quality and safety requirements, successfully docked with importing countries in terms of standards and testing, and has become a sound system, stable quality, safe and reliable industry.

 

 

 

Liang Zhongkang believes that although Chinese canned products continue to maintain the competitiveness of the international market with high quality and low price, they are also facing increased export market risks and cost pressures. He said that China's canning industry will implement more stringent food safety management in the future, adhere to technological, product and market innovation, constantly enhance the sustainable development of enterprises, while further expanding the foreign market, vigorously expand the domestic market.
