According to the statistics of Lianyungang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in 2013, the total export value of canned goods in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, was 30,581.90 tons, with a total value of 30,069,000 US dollars; compared with the same period in 2012, the export volume increased by 41.20% and 12.18%, respectively, exceeding the 20,000 tons mark, a record.

 

In recent years, the development of canned industry in Lianyungang has been developing rapidly, and export volume has always been in the forefront of Jiangsu province. At present, Lianyungang City has four large enterprises engaged in canned export production trade, products are sold to Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom and more than 60 countries and regions.

 

In order to accelerate the development of Lianyungang canning industry, Lianyungang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau promotes the filing of demonstration bases and controls the food safety of canned products from the source in accordance with the working idea of "promoting the construction of local bases, appropriately quoting the extension bases". At the same time, the use of raw materials and accessories and additives in canning production should be strictly controlled, and strict supervision and management should be carried out to ensure the quality of products from the acceptance of raw materials and accessories to the whole process of finished products. We should guide enterprises to adjust their export product mix in a timely manner, shift from high-risk varieties to low-risk varieties, from sensitive countries to non-sensitive countries, and avoid risks scientifically.
