Germany's voice radio website reported on April 9th that Pro7, a German private television station, broadcast a program this week to introduce the whole journey of white asparagus from China to Germany. According to the program, China has 13 million hectares of asparagus planted area, with an annual output of 4 million 550 thousand tons of white asparagus, 90% of which are exported to foreign countries.

 

German TV reporters came to a Chinese canned white asparagus processing factory. Dozens of workers were skilled in peeling asparagus and flying their knives. A woman worker said she had worked for two years, so she moved very fast. The head of the factory said that the coarsest white asparagus was for Spain, the middle of which was for France, the finest for Germany, "because the Germans love to eat asparagus".

 

Reported that asparagus is a popular German food, rich in vitamins and minerals, and low calorie. Pro7 TV program narrator said, why can white asparagus canned come from China? First of all, because China has more farmland, and secondly because the Chinese do not like white asparagus, they export all over the world.

 

Is that true? In the program, a German television reporter interviewed a White Asparagus Planting specialist who employed 50 workers to plant and harvest white asparagus. He said that white asparagus can be collected from the end of March to June. About 60-70 days, he had only once tasted, "foreigners love to eat", and he didn't like to eat very much, but he believed white asparagus was very healthy.

 

The TV station reporter then returned to the white asparagus processing plant and saw the white asparagus cut in the hot water in the hot water.  After that, the white asparagus was cooled and bottled, poured into saline water, and finally transported to a "Chinese equipment" for high temperature sterilization. Reported that, however, this practice has caused the German media questioned. It is reported that a considerable proportion of many products, including concentrated apple juice, frozen asparagus, canned oranges, strawberry processed products, and concentrated tomato sauce, come from China, but not all products are marked with origin. West German radio reported that it was imported from China because of the failure of the German domestic and European Union strawberries and raspberries to meet the needs of the nation. There are also people in the industry who say that the quality of Chinese food imported from the EU is less than that of other countries.
