Pingyi County, Shandong Province, a town with a population of less than 100,000 people has the title of "the first town in China can". In recent years, Pingyi County has made great efforts to promote the rapid development of the canning industry by creating brands. It has one well-known trademark in China, one trademark in China's geographical indications and 11 famous trademarks in Shandong Province.

 

Canning industry in local towns started in the mid-1980s, once canning processing enterprises developed to more than 300. In 2004, the Pingyi County Party Committee, the county government and local towns carried out a comprehensive rectification of the county's fruit processing enterprises in accordance with the development ideas of "standardization, growth and promotion", and banned more than 100 enterprises that did not meet the production conditions, standards and no legal and effective health licenses. On this basis, in order to promote the canned food industry into a healthy development track, Pingyi County to give a series of support policies, enterprises are also increasing investment, product types continue to increase, in addition to the production of canned fruits, canned vegetables and other varieties of mushrooms have also been developed. By 2009, local town canning processing enterprises have developed to 75, related supporting enterprises more than 40, annual production of various types of cans 600,000 tons, output value of 5 billion yuan.

 

However, few well-known enterprises, few well-known trademarks, high product costs, low production capacity, and weak market competitiveness of enterprises have become a common issue for local town governments and enterprises. Local town Party committees and governments use 3.15 International Consumer Rights Day, 4.26 Intellectual Property Advocacy Week and trademark publicity boards to carry out publicity activities every year, and organize enterprises to participate in trademark exhibitions and advertising festivals, hold trademark legal training, hold trademark symposiums, so that enterprises can apply for registration passively. The change from the ownership of a registered trademark to the establishment of a trademark brand. Today, the total number of trademarks in local towns has reached more than 310. Last year, the Yuquan company also made the "Meng Shui" trademark into a "well-known trademark in China". At the same time, local towns actively carry out the activities of "cracking down on counterfeiting and protecting the right to name excellence", establish the key cultivation system of well-known and famous trademarks, investigate and deal with trademark infringement cases according to law, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of trademark registrants, and escort the implementation of the strategy of famous brand trademarks.

 

Since this year, local towns have launched four special actions to protect the right to exclusive use of trademarks, and filed four cases of trademark infringement, creating a good environment for enterprises to strive for brand trademarks.

 

In the first five months of this year, eight investment projects were introduced into the town, with a contractual utilization of foreign capital of 560 million yuan; the investment in fixed assets of the whole society reached 780 million yuan, an increase of 43% over the same period; and the local revenue of 33.9 million yuan, an increase of 60% over the same period.
