In order to ensure the quality and safety of canned fruits and vegetables and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, the Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision recently organized a provincial-level supervision and spot check on canned fruits and vegetables. A total of 15 kinds of products produced by 15 enterprises were sampled, and the sampling qualified rate was 93.3%.

The results of spot checks showed that the quality of canned fruits and vegetables were generally good. The supervision and spot check of the fruit, vegetable canned saccharin sodium, cyclamate, benzoic acid, commercial sterility and other indicators were tested. Sample inspection shows that most of these testing items have not exceeded the standard, indicating that through the implementation of the QS system and effective supervision, most canned fruit and vegetable manufacturers can organize production in strict accordance with the standard, thus ensuring the quality and safety of canned fruit and vegetable products. In a batch of unqualified products, mainly detected cyclamate, according to national standards, canned fruits and vegetables can not detect cyclamate, but the batch of canned sugar pineapple detected cyclamate 0.26g/kg, mainly due to the use of cyclamate instead of sugar production enterprises to reduce costs.

In view of the main quality problems found in the spot check, the Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision has instructed the relevant district and municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision to deal with the enterprises whose products are not up to standard in accordance with the law of product quality and other relevant laws and regulations and to rectify them within a time limit. At the same time, we will publish some of the better quality products and their production enterprises in the spot checks, and guide consumers to choose and buy them. The Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision will continue to track and spot-check canned fruits and vegetables, promote the overall level of the canned fruits and vegetables industry to further improve, and create a safe environment for consumers to eat canned fruits and vegetables.
