A German industry insider said that although European importers would have to pay anti-dumping duties if their imports exceeded quotas, they generally agreed to continue such quotas, which would help stabilize the European market.

He also said that China could easily export 50000 tons of canned fruit to the EU every year.
The first quota for China was set between the enlargement of the European Union in 2004. If the quota for China was increased by 20%, China's annual export volume would reach 40,000 tons.
