A few days ago, a food enterprise in Zhenhai District of Ningbo exported canned food to Japan arrived at the port of departure, after the Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau staff port inspection, found that there are some unusual phenomena such as tank swelling and slight deterioration, by reason investigation, found to be caused by high temperature weather. Due to the recent hot weather, the container in the means of transport is relatively muggy, and the collision of the tank during the shipping process and other factors have a negative impact on food storage, which has become the main reason for food canning.

 

According to statistics, from January to June this year, 2975 batches of canned food were exported in Ningbo, with a value of 93.6 million US dollars, involving 76 canned food export enterprises. Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Department reminds relevant export enterprises that, while emphasizing the quality and safety of exported food products conforming to the standards, storage methods in the course of transportation should arouse high alertness. Should pay attention to timely communication with customers of the way the goods are shipped, because the freight charges for refrigerated containers may be more than double that of ordinary containers, which increases the cost of production for enterprises, so when exporting canned food, enterprises may as well let customers designate shipping companies and determine the way the goods are shipped; enterprises notify their warehousing departments strictly according to customers. In order to reduce the collision and extrusion during the shipping process and avoid the loss caused by the factors of the transportation process to the greatest extent, it is necessary to standardize the operation during the packing process when the goods are dispatched by the household by the designated mode.
