The US Food and Drug Administration will announce the final ruling on BPA by the end of November. 2018-09-05 09:29:37

The US Food and Drug Administration will announce the final ruling on BPA by the end of November.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced that the final decision on the safety of BPA will be issued by the end of November. The Food Safety and Applied Nutrition Center (CFSAN) of the FDA is reviewing more studies on the safety of BPA, especially on its health risks.

BPA is widely used in food packaging, such as canned food and baby bottles. However, the security of BPA has been controversial. Opposition groups believe that long-term exposure to BPA increases the risk of many diseases, but industry has repeatedly stressed the safety of BPA. So far, neither the U.S. nor the European Union's food safety agencies believe BPA in food packaging is harmful to health, but the FDA announced in June that it would conduct more reviews of the safety of BPA and would issue a final ruling after the review. Because of FDA's authoritative position in the field of international food safety, this final ruling will become an important basis for countries to formulate relevant regulations.

The top BPA baby bottle is the first choice for consumers.

Last year, the Canadian government included BPA in harmful substances and banned BPA for baby bottles by legislation. Canada has thus become the first country in the world to ban BPA. Although BPA has not been banned by food safety agencies in the United States and the European Union, some U.S. states have legislated to ban BPA for food packaging, especially baby bottles, and France may become the first country in Europe to ban BPA. The Canadian government has made it clear that BPA should be banned for the sake of long-term public safety, thereby eliminating the potential hazards of BPA. Many enterprises also respond to the voice of consumers to ensure the production of BPA bottles.
