Myth two: canned preservatives
Meng Suhe, chairman of the Chinese Food Science and Technology Association, said that 892 canned food enterprises with a total revenue of 175.387 billion yuan in 2017, an increase of 5.46 percent over the same period of the same year. However, compared with the development speed and quality of the national food industry, China's canned food industry is still at a low level. Rumors are one of the reasons that restrict the development of the canning industry, especially the spread of rumors such as "cans contain preservatives, packaging materials are harmful to health".
 
In this regard, President Charles said that the principle of canned food preservation is to rely on sealed sterilization to achieve commercial aseptic requirements, do not need or allow the addition of any preservatives. Myth three: canned food is unhealthy.
 
Nowadays, some people are doubtful or even negative about the nutrition of canned food, and there are many clinical nutritionists who do not know much about food science. This led to the standard "no use of canned food" in some nutritious meal standards. For a long time, canned elder brother has suffered a lot of injustice.
 
Ding Gangqiang, director of the Institute of Nutrition and Health, China's Centers for Disease Control, explained that cardiovascular diseases had become the leading cause of death in the 1990-2015 mortality survey of major diseases among Chinese residents, with rural areas accounting for a higher proportion than urban areas. Irrational dietary structure has become the main inducement.
