Canned asparagus is one of the characteristic export products of Heze, which occupies an important position in Heze agriculture and national economy. From January to May this year, the Shandong Heze Inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected and quarantined 7036 batches of canned asparagus with a value of $17.20 million, an increase of 13.4% and 25.9% respectively.

 

Since the outbreak of the international financial crisis in 2009, the price of Asparagus in the international market has been hovering at a low level, and the cultivated area of Asparagus in China has been decreasing. The export volume of canned asparagus in Shandong, Fujian, Shanxi and Henan provinces has accounted for more than 90% of the whole country, and the export area of canned asparagus has been highly regionalized. Since the asparagus production season began in 2013, asparagus raw materials prices have risen all the way, and remain at a higher price. In the face of the warming up situation of the export of canned asparagus, many enterprises have opened up full horsepower production, even competing for raw materials.

 

Inspection and quarantine departments said that enterprises should be cautious and calm. First of all, asparagus canned products as labor-intensive products, processing enterprises profit margins are shrinking year by year, enterprises should actively participate in and cooperate with the coordination of industry associations, to prevent blindly heightening raw material prices, the formation of vicious competition; second, the unequal information so that many small and medium-sized enterprises can not timely understand the international market demand letter. Blind acceptance and production of asparagus will be at great risk with the change of interest rate. Thirdly, because of the rising price of raw materials, the enthusiasm of asparagus farmers will be enhanced, and the area of Asparagus Planting is expected to be further expanded. Enterprises should actively cooperate with inspection and quarantine departments and local governments to establish a regional management model for the cultivation of asparagus raw materials.
