In the first quarter of this year, the export of 60 batches, weighing 1677.7 tons, and the value of canned aquatic products in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, was $30.09 million, up 106.9%, 113.9% and 89.5% respectively, with a strong growth momentum. The main export varieties are saltwater tuna canned, saltwater mackerel canned and eggplant mackerel canned, etc., mainly exported to the United States, Canada and other countries and Latin America, North Africa, Southeast Asia and other regions. Among them, 31 batches of canned tuna, weighing 572.8 tons and worth $1.417 million were exported, up 106.7%, 108.3% and 78.0% respectively, while 29 batches of canned mackerel, weighing 1094.9 tons and worth $1.673 million were exported, up 107.1%, 115.0% and 100.4% respectively.

 

The main reasons for the export growth are as follows: the price of raw materials tends to be stable, which not only increases foreign orders for enterprises, but also guarantees the normal production of enterprises; the improvement of enterprise quality management brings about a huge "dividend". Since this year, two canning enterprises in the jurisdiction have increased investment in laboratory construction on the basis of strengthening quality control. To enhance self inspection and self-control ability, quality management improvement has brought new growth points to foreign trade and export. In 2015, the Taizhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau further deepened the export food classification management model, shifted the focus of supervision from product batch inspection to safety risk monitoring and risk management, which not only achieved scientific and effective supervision of product quality and safety, but also promoted the facilitation of trade.
