Last year, the export of canned bamboo shoots in Jieyang reached a new high. There were 2161 batches of canned bamboo shoots in Qingshui, weighing 539,000 tons, with a value of 120 million US dollars. Compared with the same period in 2016, the export volume increased by 40.1%, 44.3% and 36.3%, respectively. The export volume ranked first in the same kind of products in China.

 

Putian Town, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, is known as the "home of bamboo shoots in China". Its average annual output is more than 80,000 tons, of which 80% are exported to more than 40 countries and regions such as Europe, America, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia in the form of canned bamboo shoots. In recent years, the export scale of Jieyang bamboo shoot canned products has been expanding, but it has always maintained the record of "zero accident" of quality and safety, and the quality has been deeply trusted by overseas consumers. In order to cultivate the quality competitive advantage of export bamboo shoots canned in Jieyang, in September 2017, Jieyang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the local government, formally launched the construction of the first quality and safety demonstration zone named after export bamboo shoots in Guangdong Province, and guided the establishment and improvement of eight major systems, such as organizational guarantee, pest monitoring and honest management of the demonstration zone, so as to further improve the quality of export bamboo shoots and water. Ping, strengthen the driving effect of bamboo shoot industry. The Inspection and Quarantine Department also provides enterprises in the demonstration area with multiple "benefits" such as simplified filing procedures, preferential recommendation and registration, convenient export inspection and customs clearance abroad. It creates a good environment for enterprises to improve quality and efficiency, innovate and upgrade, and helps Jieyang "small" bamboo shoots to enter the global "big" market faster and better.

 

At the same time, Jieyang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau actively implements the call of the State Administration of Quality Inspection and Quarantine to help thousands of enterprises "get in and out with high quality", through the formulation of "one-to-one" precise assistance program, to help enterprises make full use of preferential policies of origin, to achieve "good entry, good exit, high quality and good price"; to implement fast visa management, "zero waiting" priority visa model, to provide the best way to apply for certificates of origin. According to statistics, the Bureau issued 1297 visas for the origin of canned bamboo shoots in the whole year last year, with the amount of 72.27 million US dollars. It won 28.51 million US dollars in tariff relief for enterprises and effectively promoted the price competitive advantage of Jieyang canned bamboo shoots in foreign markets.
