The surprising fact of the peach 2018-07-14 14:59:36

Peaches are fresh or canned peaches. There is nothing sweeter or sweeter than ripe peaches. Peach is not only packaged with delicious drinks, but also rich in antioxidants and vitamins, which is essential for health. As the second generation of peach growers and chairman of California Ping Tao board, I am never tired of educating people on this amazing fruit.

To celebrate the harvest of peach blossoms, which will soon be packaged in many parts of the country, I want to share these little-known facts about glorious peach:

Alpha 1

Peaches actually belong to the rose family, and also have plums, nectarines, cherries and so on. So when Shakespeare wrote that "roses smell sweet under any other name", he began to do something.

Alpha 2

Contrary to what you think, Georgia is not the main producer of American peaches. This honor belongs to my home state of California, where 60% of peaches are grown, followed by South Carolina, and then Georgia.  Pennsylvania and Washington are the top five.

Alpha 3

There are two main types of peaches: Clingstone and Fries. They are different from the ease of drawing fruits from rocks. Honey peach is the most commonly used variety of canned food because they can maintain flavor and consistency.

Alpha 4

Canned peach in the harvest season (mid May to September) worked seven days a week, canned peaches from farm to table. Most of the peaches were canned in the 24 hours after reaching the canned equipment to retain all the nutritional value and flavor of the ripe fruits just picked up.

Alpha 5

According to a study from Oregon State University, the main nutrients in fresh Preserved Peaches are also found in jam cans. In fact, studies have found that certain antioxidants, including vitamin A and C and folic acid, actually increase in the processing of canned food. There was no significant change in nutrient contents during storage for 3 months.

A lot of hard work and dedication to planting, harvesting and producing canned peaches. In my position, in California, on behalf of nearly 400 lingering peach growers, I encourage Americans to buy high quality canned peaches all year round. Your taste buds will be happy you do it!
