According to the latest forecast of Promango, Peru's mango production is expected to increase by more than 10% in 2018.

 

Promango President ngel Gamarra said that this estimate is likely to be achieved because two years ago, in the Olmos irrigation area of Lambayeque, 1,000 hectares of mango plantations were added. "We have seen the results of investment in these regions, and it is estimated that this will increase total mango production by 20,000 tons."

 

From January to August 2017, Peru's exports of mango and mango products exceeded $213 million, an increase of 7.3% over the same period last year. Among them, fresh mango exports amounted to US$139 million, accounting for nearly two-thirds of total exports, followed by canned mango and mango juice, accounting for 29% and 7% of total exports, respectively.
