Domestic and foreign producers are forced to expand their business scope and reduce costs to maintain their market share.

 

Last year, the total output of canned food in Russia reached 3 billion 100 million cans, which is very similar to that in 2015, but this year's decline has begun again. At the same time, Russia's canned food market reached RUB4000 billion rubles ($6 billion 600 million) last year.

 

Among them, imported vegetables from China, India and Vietnam accounted for 15-20% of the market. Canned vegetables accounted for 59% of the market share, while canned fish and meat accounted for 35%.

 

A spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture said more and more canned foods are one of the main trends in the Russian market. According to the Russian Ministry of agriculture, 87% of Russian suburban and landowners usually make their own canned vegetables.
