 Canned fruits retail sales in the United States declined slightly

 
According to data reported by IRI Global Food Research Institute, a market research company, retail sales of canned fruits in the United States declined slightly during the 52-week period ending December 25, 2016.
 
Canned peaches are among the best canned fruits sold in American supermarkets, but sales fell by 0.53% to $42633 million, with sales of 22795 million units.
 
Canned pineapple is the second largest fruit canned product in American supermarkets, with sales of 221 million units, down 6.33%, sales of 317.26 billion US dollars, down 3%.
 
Shijin Canned Fruits ranked third with sales of 1686.6 million units, up 0.38%, sales of 259.7 million US dollars, up 0.48%.
 
Canned citrus fruit sales amounted to 16598 million units, down 1.57%, up 1.57% to $309.43 billion.
 
Canned pear sales and sales declined by 8,226 units (-0.96%) and $130 million (-0.32%) respectively.
 
During this period, sales of canned apricots declined by 8.93% to $9.6 million.
 
Overall, sales of canned fruits in supermarkets in the United States dropped 0.38% to $2.6 billion in the past 52 weeks, and sales fell by nearly 2.17% to about 1.3 billion units.
