In the first quarter of 2011, Zhangzhou canned goods exported to ASEAN amounted to 17.8 million tons and 25.694 million US dollars, an increase of 53.56% and 104.22% over the same period last year.

 

Zhangzhou's exports of canned goods totaled 1019,000 tons and 145 million US dollars in the first quarter of this year, up 22.59% and 52.83% year-on-year, and ASEAN became the largest export market of canned goods in Zhangzhou for the first time, surpassing the European Union, Zhangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau officials said on the 19th.

 

The export products are mainly canned mushrooms, canned bamboo shoots, canned asparagus and so on. The official said that in addition to the rapid growth of exports to ASEAN, Russia, Taiwan and other emerging markets also showed eye-catching performance. Among them, 14.3 million tons were exported to Russia, up 45.23%, 0.63 million tons to Japan, up 15.48%, and 839.36 tons to Taiwan, up 607.39%.

 

Zhangzhou is the most concentrated area of mushroom canning production, processing and export in China. The whole city has formed a complete system from mushroom cultivation, production, processing, export to canning. The export volume of mushroom canning accounts for 80% of the country. In 2009, it was jointly awarded the title of "Canning Capital of China" by China Light Industry Federation and China Canning Industry Association.
