The Food Safety Center today (July 13) called on the public not to eat a batch of canned sardines, which have been found to contain too much bacteria by the European Union authorities.

The EU authorities informed the food safety centre that some of the affected products were imported. A spokesman for the centre said: "Importers are recycling the same batch of products. According to the information provided by the importers, a small amount (about 50 cans) of the same batch of products have entered the market. The importer (Yi Sheng overseas) has set up a hotline (Tel: 22939395) for enquiries by consumers. "

 

He appealed that customers who had purchased the affected products should stop eating. If you feel sick after eating the affected products, you should seek medical treatment as soon as possible.

 

The spokesman said: "The Centre has appealed to the industry to suspend the sale of the relevant products and to keep in touch with the EU authorities to keep a close watch on the situation. "
