According to South Korean media reports, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued a temporary ban on the circulation and sale of "canned tuna" products (food types: aquatic products) manufactured by Korean manufacturing and processing enterprises.

 

 

 

South Korea's MFDS said it had taken precautions to alleviate consumer concerns before the final investigation was made because of frequent calls to report inferior food containing black foreign bodies in the "canned tuna" product.

 

 

 

The objects of circulation and sale are temporarily prohibited: all canned tuna products produced from March 24 to April 26, 2016.

 

 

 

At present, MFDS is conducting on-site investigation, and will take relevant measures such as recall according to the final result.

 

 

 

In addition, it said that it had recalled some of the surplus products (including the supplied products) in the stores through the agency stores. The recalled objects were "Mild Tuna 210g" products with the shelf life from March 23, 2021 to April 25, 2021, totaling 1.17 million cans.
