Because of the salesman's sales promotion, Mr. Huang bought a can and tried to taste it. But when I got home, I was about to open the canned fruit. "There is no Chinese on the label of the canned food. It's all Korean and English. You can't understand the shelf life. Can you eat it?" Mr. Huang doubted whether these canned fruits would be a problem food.

 

Reporters in this fruit shop to see, a row of tin cans of yellow peaches placed in a prominent position, the label is indeed only Korean and English. The salesman said that all the cans were imported from Korea. They tasted good and were cheap. Many people bought them. Reporters asked about the purchase channel, but the clerk was vague, but just emphasized that these were imported foods. However, from the English language on the label, the reporter can see that the canned factory is marked as Xuzhou, Jiangsu. In another fruit store, the reporter asked if there were imported canned peaches for sale, but the owner obscurely said that the so-called imported canned fruit, is not imported food at all, but some businesses because of unsalable yellow peaches made cans, sold under the name of imported food.

 

For imported food, Article 66 of the Food Safety Law clearly stipulates: "Imported pre-packaged food shall have Chinese labels and Chinese instructions. The labels and instructions shall comply with the provisions of this Law, other relevant laws and administrative regulations and the requirements of the national standards for food safety, specifying the origin of the food and the names, addresses and contact information of the agents in China. Prepackaged foods without Chinese labels, Chinese instructions or labels or instructions that do not conform to the provisions of this Article shall not be imported." Industry and Commerce Department staff said that food packaging is not labeled in Chinese, there are two possibilities, one is smuggled or brought in by individuals, the other is fake and inferior food, but in either case, the quality can not be guaranteed, once there is a dispute, it is difficult for consumers to protect their rights. It is understood that qualified imported food should be packaged with Chinese labels, which include the name of the food, ingredients list, country of origin, manufacturer, domestic distributor name and telephone, production date, shelf life, etc., with laser CIQ (China Inspection and Quarantine) sign, and with imported food hygiene certificate.
