Zhangzhou's exports rebounded strongly in the first three quarters of the canned food industry

 

According to statistics, from January to September this year, Zhangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Xiamen, Fujian Province, accepted 282,000 tons of canned goods for inspection, with a value of $390 million. Compared with the same period last year, the export volume increased by 0.3% and the value of goods decreased by 0.8%. The second quarter was 18.7 percentage points and 20.9 percentage points higher, 24.1 percentage points higher than the first quarter and 29.1 percentage points higher, showing a strong rebound momentum.

 

Zhangzhou is an important canned production and export base in China, with canned exports accounting for about 20% of the country's total exports. Among them, canned mushrooms account for nearly 80% of the country's exports of similar products, and canned bamboo shoots, asparagus, litchi and longan account for more than 50% of the country's exports.

 

According to the analysis, the main reasons for the increase of export volume of canned goods in Zhangzhou include: First, the recovery of main export markets such as Russia and Southeast Asia, especially the rapid growth of demand for canned mushrooms and litchi, 14,000 tons of canned goods exported to Russia in the third quarter, with a value of 18.263 million US dollars, an increase of 47.0% and 43.2% compared with the same period of the same period of the same period of the same period of last year; 19,000 tons, worth 25,1919,000 US dollars, up 45.0% and 47.7% year-on-year respectively. Second, the supply of raw materials for sweet corn production season is adequate. Since this year, due to the large-scale planting of sweet corn in Hubei, Hunan and other provinces, the supply of raw materials has increased significantly, the cost of canning has decreased, and the competitiveness of products has increased.
