On December 2, 2016, the Environmental Health Hazard Assessment Center of the California Environmental Protection Agency issued a warning on the exposure of bisphenol A in filling, bottled food and beverages, requiring enterprises to provide healthy bottled and filled food, prohibiting the use of bisphenol A-containing packaging containers in bottled and filled food, and the statute is valid from January 1, 2017 to December 30, 2017. . This is another technical barrier to filling food after the EU revised the Food Contact Plastics Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and tightened the standard of BPA migration in food contact materials.

 

 

 

In view of the widespread use of bisphenol A-containing coatings in the processing of tin can containers exported from Zhangzhou, the new technical requirements of the European Union and the United States have virtually become a new technical barrier for Zhangzhou cans to enter developed countries in Europe and the United States. In order to ensure the smooth export of canned products in Zhangzhou, the Zhangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has taken many measures to help export canned enterprises to cross the technical barriers of BPA set up by the European Union and the United States. The new technical requirements of the EU and the United States will be timely informed to enterprises through the risk early warning information platform, so that relevant enterprises can understand the regulatory requirements at the first time. Combining with the establishment of export canned food packaging demonstration zone, the background survey of bisphenol A project for tinplate coatings in the demonstration zone was conducted free of charge, and the use of bisphenol A in export tinplate was comprehensively mastered. The three is to guide canned export enterprises to choose canned containers rationally. Canning enterprises are urged to purchase and choose packaging containers without bisphenol A to produce products imported to the EU and the United States, and to ensure that export cans meet the requirements of relevant importing countries'technical regulations.

 

 

 

From January to November 2016, Zhangzhou canned goods exported to the United States and the European Union totaled 1771 batches, weighing 38,236 tons, with a value of $5.86 million. Due to the timely and effective response measures, all canned products exported to the United States and the European Union were successfully cleared without feedback on any quality problems.
