According to the magazine, the California Peach Cans Association (CCPA) board of directors has reached an agreement with food companies on the bottom price of peach cans in 2016, setting a base price of $490 per ton ($445 per ton), an increase of $30, or 6.5%, over the unit price of $460 per ton ($417 per ton) last year. CCPA also pointed out that the 2016 sales conditions include the delivery price of No. 2 peach cans and the modification of other general defect tolerances. Payment terms for No. 2 peach cans are the same as those in 2014, and all other foreign cans will be paid in full within the tolerance level. With delivery and other foreign classes rising by 33% to 1.74% of the total in 2014, peach grading in 2015 is a challenge for processing plants. In California in 2015, peach production reached 345,000 tons. This is three-quarters of CCPA's forecast for 2016, and the output may shrink by 2.3% to 8.1% in 2016.

 

Peach cultivation in California reached 18,538 acres in 2015, an estimated decline of 2.36% to 18,100 acres this year. According to last year's peach production of 18.1 tons/acre. Peach production will reach 327,000 tons this year.
