With the supply of canned yellow peaches in the international market in short supply, the export volume of canned yellow peaches in China has increased, but the price of canned yellow peaches has dropped by 9.7% compared with the same period of last year, and the business opportunity of 39 million US dollars has been missed.

 

 

 

According to Lin Fuhui, assistant director of the China Canning Industry Association, several major producers of yellow peaches in the world were in short supply last year. For example, Greece, Italy and other countries have been hit by frost to reduce production of yellow peaches, the United States yellow peach production reduction is based on the California Peach Association to maintain the price agreement of yellow peaches, cut 1400 acres of yellow peach trees.

 

 

 

The general decline in yellow peach production caused the raw material price of canned yellow peach to rise from 2.4 yuan per kilogram to 3.6 yuan per kilogram, up by as much as 50%; the global market is facing shortages and "scrambling for raw materials".

 

 

 

Last year, China's yellow peach production did not decrease, and the export volume of canned yellow peach was 79,000 tons, an increase of 34,000 tons compared with the same period last year, Lin said. According to statistics, the world needs about 1 million tons of canned yellow peaches. China is one of the 10 major peach producing countries. While Greece, the main producer of canned yellow peaches, has greatly reduced its production, even though China has increased its export by tens of thousands of tons, the global market is still in short supply.

 

 

 

But the fact is disappointing. According to statistics from the China Canning Industry Association, the average price of canned yellow peaches exported last year was $743 per ton, down 9.7% from the same period last year. According to normal estimates, the loss was nearly 40 million dollars. According to Lin, after the beginning of the international supply shortage, domestic enterprises are eager to ship, have low-cost "sale", resulting in a relatively "shortage" of raw materials, to August and September, some canned yellow peach manufacturers generally dare not take orders, watching the loss of profits. In addition, some enterprises still face the increase of foreign orders, still "vicious competition" low-priced market, a large number of exports of low-profit quick-frozen peach slices, but later in the face of a large number of foreign orders, want to expand the production of canned yellow peach is out of season.

 

 

 

As early as last April, the China Canning Industry Association (CAPI) was informed of the disaster in the main producing countries of international yellow peach, and provided this information in the Association Magazine Canned Food, but it did not attract the attention of relevant enterprises. It is understood that the canned yellow peach production enterprises in China last year were generally in a state of loss, only a very small number of enterprises have a profit.
