Last year, the sales volume of Bulgarian canning industry increased by more than 9%, mainly due to the rise of foreign market demand, which has increased by 14%.

 

 

 

Bulgaria was one of the three largest exporters of canned cherries in 2015, with increased production of canned vegetables and fruits, tomato sauce, pasta, mayonnaise and mixed seasonings, but decreased production of potatoes and frozen vegetables, according to the Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Processors.

 

 

 

Exports of frozen fruits, canned vegetables and compost have increased, and more and more companies are entering overseas markets. 60% of Bulgarian products are sold to EU countries, and Russia ranked second.
