China has recently detected pathogenic microorganisms and banned pigments from Indonesian aquatic products and canned fish, including canned pineapple and frozen sea eel, the General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection reported this morning. In the first half of this year, 121 batches of problem foods from Indonesia were returned or destroyed. The General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection is organizing experts to assess the safety of Indonesian food exported to China and will take further measures based on the evaluation results.

 

Recently, Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau detected Salmonella from frozen eels imported from Indonesia and Listeria monocytogenes from frozen fish bellies. Ningbo Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau detected citrus yellow pigment banned from pineapple tins imported from Indonesia. The entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Guangdong and Ningbo has already returned or destroyed the above products according to law.
